IPMB Science Features
Focusing on blogging personality, driven life and perspectives
IPMB science features are a platform that allow our colleagues and readers to post their thoughts on recent developments and ideas in their corner of their sciences. As a new site feature, these will grow and develop into living, breathing areas for the exchange of links, thoughts, and information. As time goes on, we'll be adding new features, blogs, and authors/bloggers, so come back often to find out what our bloggers are up to!

Thanks for two years, from your web editor  by Wei-chin Chang  (5-11-2007)

Dr. Wei-chin ChangI can't believe it's been two whole years, but it's true. We started the new web site two years ago, although it didn't become complete until a little later. In the intervening years, we've tried to make the site a little nicer to view and a little easier to read. I'm still having fun though, and I wouldn't have kept it up for this long if it weren't for you guys. So thank you. ¡@» read more

The greatest science book even written  by Wei-chin Chang  (12-14-2006)

In the December 2006 issue, DISCOVER assembled The All-time Essential Reading List--the 25 greatest science books ever written. They also held a poll to see what readers thought were the greatest books, and 800 folks weighed in when the poll was closed. As the #1 science book of all-time their readers picked... Darwin's The Origin of Species (which was tied for #1 in their official list) followed by Principia Mathematica by Newton (#3 on our list), with all others way, way behind.

ImageBiofuels produced by polycultures of multiple (grass) species can be "carbon negative" and may provide a substantial portion of global energy needs in a sustainable and environmentally beneficial manner without competing with food production for fertile lands. ¡@» read more
