Arwen and Aragorn by the Gardener (2-13-2008)
Gandalf the wizard was down, but he's not out.
A 17-year-old hobbit made an illegal left turn. Her speeding roadster hit Gandalf・s chariot at an intersection in Middle Earth, and hurt the wizard・s right shoulder. The poor old wizard was X-rayed, MRIed and had a surgery to repair his rotator cuff teasing.
Arwen the elf and her daughter Hope made a 8000-mile long trek from Saruman・s land to Middle Earth to comfort the injured wizard.
They reached the front gate of the RoseC.com after midnight and gave the wizard and Lady Rose a big surprise. Aragorn was the one to escort the elves to the wizard・s land! A made- in-USA GPS helped Aragorn steer his wagon to the right spot in such a pitch dark, silent night.
Rose and Gandalf were more than happy to have them visit. They chatted a lot on every aspects of biology that Hobbits had known, the evil Saruman and his cold blooded balrogs, and the mean crocodiles everywhere.
On Lunar New Year・s eve, together with families of the wizard・s son and daughter, and two other senior wizards, friends of Gandalf Lady Rose treated the elves and the warrior with ：Lion heads； and twenty other delectable dishes. After dinner Arwen helped Gandalf・s daughter Christine to bath three little Hobbits. Rose taught little hobbits the Lunar new year・s customs of her homeland, the rats and fireworks. They chatted and played until midnight.
They picked up candies that Aragorn favored from the neighboring Costco, and walked hours around the little lake of a nearby park for a warm sunny winter afternoon. The elves and Aragorn showed their professional skills to the wizard on taking photos with their digital SLRs. Arwen clicked her beloved Nikon D-200, and Aragorn on his aging D-70. But the wizard preferred to click his tiny Sony T200 to record the scenes. |

Seagulls (Larus occidentalis) were hovering along the waterfront just in front of the path we were on, beautiful, tame and wild. They are free and so pure. The main propose that elves made such long journey is to search for a proper place for Hope to attend graduate school. They have checked schools in Florida, Louisiana and the Longhorn country, and soon Hope will pick one for her soaring in Middle Earth.
The sun was going down and it became more windy near the lake. Rose and the wizard wished good luck to the elves and the warrior, as Aragorn pointed the wagon south and continued their pursuit of an ideal soaring place for Hope. |
